Hike through the forest before heading for the mountain pastures and summit, where the sheep are in summer pasture. From the Croise Baulet and its bench, you can enjoy a vast 360° panorama of the Aravis mountains and the Mont-Blanc massif,

Take on the Grand Croisse Baulet from l'Avenaz, a challenging and sporting hike. With a highest point of 2,236 meters, this route, classified as difficult (red level), promises breathtaking mountain panoramas.

Experienced hikers will be delighted by this challenge, while enjoying the majestic scenery and local flora.

Don't miss the well-deserved break at the famous bench at the summit, which offers a vast and grandiose view of the surrounding peaks.

Lovers of pastoralism and mountain traditions will also be delighted by this authentic environment.

Please note: Patous, or guard dogs, are present on the Croisse Baulet mountain pasture from July to around mid-September.
As indicated by municipal by-law no. 18/2024, domestic dogs are prohibited on the communal mountain pasture around the Croisse Baulet mountain between July 1 and September 15.

Be vigilant during the summer period about crossing areas guarded by guard dogs

1/ Park at the Lezaive d'en haut parking lot, at the start of the forest road (possibly Les Plaines).
2/ Take a dirt track leading fairly directly up to Les Plaines,
3/ At Les Plaines, follow the Avenaz, Col de l'Avenaz,
4/ At the Col de l'Avenaz, follow signs for Grand Croisse Baulet.
5/ Descend via Petit Croisse Baulet,
6/ Pass through the Col du Jaillet,
7/ Return to the forest road;

Animals

Yes. Dogs must be kept on a leash. Please note that domestic dogs are forbidden on the communal mountain pasture around Montagne de Croisse Baulet, between July 01 and September 15. Contact the Tourist Office for further information.
