Description
A pleasant route through the larch forests of Les Orres, an emblematic species of the southern Alps.
From Place de l'Etoile, take the chamois path across the bridge. Stay on the main road until you reach the end. Continue straight ahead, passing under the ski lift and chairlift.
After 150 m take a left fork as you descend on a track towards Les Orres 1550. The path runs alongside the ski slope to pass under the chairlift departure station. Go back up the car park and at the end turn right into the meadow. The balcony path alternates between forest and meadow until it reaches the "Les Abouchiers" signpost.
From here, continue right on the track and turn right onto a path in the forest. After leaving the forest, continue on the flat.
At the crossroads turn left uphill. Turn right into the forest. At the meadow, turn left until you reach a flat area and continue left, skirting the forest in the direction of the chairlift. Once past this point, the return journey takes the same route.

Follow the N94 from Gap or Briançon, then the D40 towards Les Orres at Embrun.
Ambiance
Far from the hustle and bustle of the ski resort, come and enjoy the peace and quiet of the forest, where you can hear the birds singing as if to ward off the rigours of winter.
