This course is quite specific with its narrow fairways and large areas with spots of water where you can enjoy the peaceful reflection of the oaks, ash trees and poplars. "Les Castors" (9 holes approved) is more specifically for beginners. A playground, training course and competition area. Travel back in time from Prehistory to the Middle Ages with objects found during excavations in Faverges and its surroundings. Then you can visit the nearby Romanesque church, architectural heritage of five periods of construction (1st - 19th century).The Viuz Faverges Archeological Museum consists of three rooms filled with artifacts found locally during tests and formal excavations. These objects, ranging from the commonplace to the extraordinary, illustrate the history of human settlement in the area. From the stone Age, axes and tools; from the bronze and iron Ages, jewelry, coins, pottery, tools as well as a huge gallo-roman cauldron. The museum is located next to the Viuz Saint Jean-Baptiste church, whose Romanesque choir dates back to the 12th Century and houses older foundations of several successive buildings dating back to gallo-roman times as well as early christianity. Over 5000 butterflies and insects from the 5 continents. There are only 3 museum of this kind in France. The 1st room contains European fauna, with a special focus on the diurnal butterflies from the Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Reserve. The 2nd room offers a rich insight into the butterflies and insects from the Upper Amazon Basin. In the 3rd room, visitors can look at butterflies from Africa and Asia as well as stunningly spectacular giant insects. An area is dedicated to temporary exhibitions: since 2022, an exhibition on the endemic fauna of Madagascar with more than 300 butterflies and insects from that area. To round off the tour, live insects are on display in terrariums (currently under work).
