Description

Path from Peyrat which leads to the hamlet of Mireval or "mira-valh" which means in Occitan "look at the valley".
Until the mid-nineteenth century, Le Peyrat was an industrial center specialized in the manufacture of horn comb and leather goods.

Take the road towards Mireval and continue straight, follow the rue du 19 mars 1962. After 600 meters at the exit of housing estate, the street leads to a dirt road.

Go straight on the road and go to the transformer. Continue on your path for 1,2km and you will see a shed under a bridge and the old railway line (description page 5) where you turn right.

At the intersection, take a left and continue for 400m.

Turn left at the sign, the path along the creek by the left edge of the meadow for 300m.

Here, take another left where the trail rises on the hill above to the left on the curved road, you go through the red and white GR7 markers. Pass near the Turet fountain.

At the intersection, turn left onto the paved road that climbs to Mireval; on your right, admire the views over Lake Montbel (see path 15), and on your left, a view of the pyrenees .

Take the road to the left that goes to Peyrat; you then leave the GR7, and again follow the yellow markers down to the left on a trail into the woods.

The name of this hamlet comes from Occitan Mira-Valh which means look at the valley.

The fountain of Turet:
Once a place of restorations and processions, was formerly in the center of the village of Mireval the old one which was, according to the memory, in this kind of valley where tiles and cut stones were discovered.
