Pic d'Estelle et Saint Julien

Startinh point Mairie de Saint-Julien de Gras Capou

Turn left onto the road towards Mirepoix to reach the start of the trail. Follow the yellow marker on the right leading to a stream that you cross before continuing on the path through meadows. The path will lead to a road that follow to the left towards the hamlet of Francilles.

At the entrance of the village, continue straight on down the path between two hills, and later over a stream just before the hamlet of Montcabirol.

At Montcabirol, follow the D307 to the right, continue on the road to take a 1st and a 2nd ford, then take the right road to reach Besset.

Once at Besset, don’t cross the D119, instead turn left onto the D13 , direction Senesse de S., pass the large garages on the left. Leave the road to follow the yellow markers on your right. Here begins the ascent which will take you near the Pic d'Estelle, it starts with a slope leading to a wild boar park.

The ascent continues to the left and passes alongside Estelle Peak where you will get a magnificent view over the Pyrénées.

The path then goes right through meadows and woods to the farm Lardy.

Go through Lardy by the road that you will follow right until a small pass in front of an isolated house. Here, take the 2nd wide dirt road on your left which takes you back to Saint-Julien, to the beggining of the hike.
