The itinerary offers a cycle tour in Alsace Bossue, Alsace's geographical “incursion” into the Lorraine plateau. The route starts in Diemerigen, a dynamic rural village, and quickly leads to Lorentzen, home to the Grange aux paysages (landscape barn) in the village's attractive plain castle, which houses a vast and beautiful wooden educational area dedicated to the fauna, flora and landscapes of Alsace Bossue. The route then takes in the region's ancient past through the Gallo-Roman villa of Gurtelbach in Dehlingen, whose ruins have been converted for public use, and the well-designed educational interpretation center “La Villa”. After a pleasant foray into the forest, the route joins the EuroVelo5 - Via Romea along the quiet, bucolic towpaths of the Saar Canal cycle route to Harskirchen and its small marina. From there, cyclists can reach Sarre-Union, Saarwerden and the Saar Valley. The Saar, which is still quite wild, can be discovered on an unforgettable flat-boat trip. The orchard landscapes are characteristic of the region, and offer one magnificent panorama after another. Two other stops are in Berg, at the Kirchebrg site with its white church built on a beautiful hill, and in Drulingen, which boasts one of Alsace's two bicycle-rail routes. The route then joins the verdant Eichel valley in Asswiller on the way back to the starting point.
