In the land of the painter Henri Loux.
From the Soufflenheim tourist information office or from the Staedly leisure area, go to Rountzenheim-Auenheim and stroll along the streets lined with beautiful half-timbered farmhouses. This village was the birthplace in 1873 of the painter Henri Loux, who is best known for the decorations on a famous Alsatian dinner service, known as "Obernai".
Walk past the school, the artist's birthplace, and continue to the Moder river. Take a moment to soak up the tranquillity of the place. The typical fishermen's boats, which are moored to the bank, let the water flow quietly under their flat bottom. This scenery undoubtedly inspired the paintings of the local artist.
