2-day hiking circuit: Rimbach - Hartmannswillerkopf - Hirtzenstein

This beautiful hike, ideally done in 2 days, offers the possibility of going through several farm inns, enjoying magnificent panoramas and immersing yourself in local history. The route passes in particular through the ruins of the castle of Freundstein (13th century), the battlefield of the Hartmannswillerkopf and other vestiges of the First World War. Overall, this hike is accessible to inexperienced walkers, but passing through the trenches of Lippic Switzerland requires good physical condition. However, it is possible to shorten the route to this level by taking the direct path to the Zeller canteen. It is also possible to start from the Hirtzensetin and stop off at the Golden Eagle in Rimbach by reversing the two days of the hike.
