Description

Cross the Sauer valley and discover the authenticity of this cycle route, just a stone's throw from the German border. Between Lembach and Seltz, you'll discover a rich historical and natural heritage. The small village of Lembach, a witness to Alsace's tumultuous past, is defined by its castles, the Grand Ouvrage du Four à Chaux, and the remains of the Maginot line.

At the foot of the valley lies Woerth, a charming village that bears the memory of the battle of August 6, 1870. In the old Renaissance château, a museum is dedicated to the battle, where you can learn more about the events that marked Alsace and its people.

You'll then reach Betschdorf, a famous village of traditional potters, before finding some fresh air on the banks of the Rhine at Seltz.
