This 21 km circuit with a 160 m elevation gain starts in the center of Waldighoffen and allows you to discover the charms of rural southern Alsace.
You will take the Ill Valley cycle route and pass through the picturesque village of Illtal, famous for its many typical half-timbered houses.
The cycle path will then take you to Bettendorf, where you will follow the banks of the Willerbach, going upstream along a peaceful farm road. You will then reach the commune of Willer, which also has many beautiful traditional farms.
The route continues along the old Roman road to Muespach, offering superb views of the Vosges, Jura, and Black Forest mountains along the way. The descent to Steinsoultz is via a few dirt roads before returning leisurely to Waldighoffen.
A bucolic and varied itinerary, perfect for a cycling getaway in the heart of the Alsatian countryside.
Created in partnership with the Alsace à Vélo collective, Colibrius, and the Sundgau Tourist Office, this loop has been tested and approved for use with adapted bicycles. The route has held the “Tourisme & Handicap” certification since May 2026
