N°2 Romanche - Along the Romanche river

Loop: Descent to the hamlet of Fréaux and ascent along the Romanche.

From La Grave, cross the Arboretum and the campsite, and turn left down the path that joins the route de l'envers.
At the crossroads, pass alongside the Romanche and climb up along the torrent of La Meije. Follow the road again,
descend to the Bike Park, which runs along the left bank of the Romanche. After passing through the woods, turn right onto a pretty hidden path just before rejoining the road,
OPTION: Before reaching the village of Les Fréaux, take the dirt track opposite. A gentle descent through undergrowth leads to the water treatment plant. Make a U-turn at this point and return
at the Fréaux bridge, cross the Romanche, then take the right-hand path up to the D1091.
Cross the D1091 and climb a dirt track before crossing the D1091 again to reach another campsite. When you reach the bridge under the cable car, cross it and turn left up the route de l'envers towards the arboretum.
