After two years of massive works, the Château des Rubins has become the Observatoire des Alpes (Alps Observatory). All year round, a modern, fun and interactive exhibition is available for the whole family to visit on the theme of Mountains with a capital M.
The Immaculate Conception chapel was built between 1855 and 1857 and was officially dedicated on 4 October 1857. The inhabitants built this chapel for the glory of Mary Immaculate. You can see it from the town centre, overlooking Sallanches.
Magnificent gorges that emerge from the meeting of the Torrent de Coeur and the Torrent de Fours. In the summer you can bathe there to refresh yourself. Accessible only from above currently, on the way down you will discover the famous Marian Grotto of Lévaud.
The Grotte Mariale de Lévaud is a religious monument dedicated to the Virgin Mary in the form of a replica of the cave in Lourdes. It was built after the Second World War because Sallanches was spared from bombings.

Departure: Château des Rubins car park
1. approach the Château des Rubins and go up the stairs to reach the entrance to the castle
2. going slightly up the road passing in front of the castle, turn left to follow the small path, marked "U" on the low wall
3. follow this path through the undergrowth which winds along the beginning of the hillside
4. after 10-15 minutes of walking you arrive under the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception This chapel can only be visited on request, however you can have some explanations at the tourist office)
5. a bench is installed for a contemplative stopover in this beautiful haven of peace
6. behind the chapel, take the Lévaud road on the left, up to the panoramic table where you can admire the Aiguilles de Warens and know the name of each summit
7. opposite this table, crossing the road, you will find a path which goes down into the forest approaching the magnificent Gorges de Lévaud; you can make a short stop below to rest and take the time to admire this pleasant and relaxing place, very appreciated for its freshness in summer
8. follow the path to the footbridge spanning this Lévaud torrent
9. on the right of the footbridge you will see the famous Marian cave of Lévaud, a historic place very dear to the Sallanchards; you can reflect there or simply stop and contemplate this unusual building in this well-hidden place
10. the return takes the same route as the outward journey.
11. the path which continues further down is legally closed due to a landslide several years ago.
12. on the right of the cave, a path climbs through the woods to join the Cordon road
