DAY 1:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Starting point: Le Clot (hamlet below to St Christophe en Oisans)
Elevation gain: 535 m
Duration: 2h15
ROUTE:
The day is spent outside of the National Park, but dogs are not advisable (the two following days are inside the Park boundary). Walk down through Le Clot, cross the Vénéon and turn right down to the junction leading to Les Granges (45 mins.). Then follow the signs up to the Refuge d'Alpe du Pin (90 mins.). Spend the night in this small family-run mountain hut at the foot of the Lauranoure.
DAY 2:

Starting point: Refuge de l'Alpe du Pin
Elevation gain: 600 m
Duration: 5 hours
ROUTE:
Explore the Vallon de la Mariande and then walk down via La Gaussaudière and back up to the Refuge de la Lavey. Night at the mountain hut.
DAY 3:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Starting point: Refuge of la Lavey to walk up to the Lac des Bêches
Elevation gain: 604 m
Duration: 2 hours
ROUTE:
Walk up to the lake and then back down to Champhorent, then to Le Clot following the right-hand bank of the Vénéon.
DURING THE HIKE/
There are lovely views all the way up the path leading up opposite St Christophe en Oisans. The little stone mountain hut is perched on a look-out point over the Vénéon valley.

The warden provides lovely snacks (!) and can suggest ideas for walks from the hut.
Continuer tout au bout de la route, petit parking à côté du panneau du Refuge de l'Alpe du Pin.
Le Refuge de l'Alpe du Pin est une étape.Il est possible pour les bons marcheurs de poursuivre en faisant une boucle.Il est plutôt conseillé aux marcheurs débutants ou accompagnés d'enfants de redescendre par le sentier emprunté à la montée.
Traversée sans difficulté après le refuge pour découvrir l'entrée du Vallon de la Mariande.
3 options sont possibles :1ère option traçée : redescendre par le sentier de gauche jusqu'au Vénéon pour rejoindre le hameau des Granges en rive gauche.2ème option : redescendre par la Gassaudière, le Clôt d'Outre puis retour en rive Gauche du Vénéon.3ème option : redescendre par la Gassaudière, traverser le Véneon pour rejoindre le hameau du Clot puis retour par une portion bitumée jusqu'au hameau de Bernardière puis au hameau des Granges.
Little-known and discreet, the Alpe du Pin refuge has everything it takes to delight your heart, mind and ... calves! You can count on a warm welcome and good food from Carine, the janitor.The refuge is set on a magnificent belvedere, so you'll be able to explore the landscape and hike in the midst of unspoilt nature. Around the refuge you'll find many activities such as hiking (tour du grand Cond, lac de la Mariande, lac du Salude, col de la Mariande...), mountaineering (tête de Lauranoure, col de la haute pisse...) and climbing (2 big routes in the pierroux, 3 routes around the Froude Pisse waterfall). Built in 1947, the refuge has retained the modesty of its origins over the decades, while reasonably adapting its comfort to today's requirements. In 2019, installation of a solar cooker Here, everything is homemade with local and seasonal products, some of which are organic. Oisans honey from Ecrin de Miel, Goodwin beers from Bourg-d'Oisans, meat and charcuterie from Ferme du Rochail, cheeses from Villard-Reculas and Ornon, flour from Trieves, eggs from Nord-Isere... Enjoy croziflette, donkey ears, blueberry tart and chocolate fondant. Various snacks available at all times. Half-board and picnics available. If you're planning to eat in a refuge, or even ask for a picnic, it's best to make a reservation in advance. The refuges have limited stocks, and in any case they are sized according to their capacity... While bivouacs are tolerated in the vicinity of the refuges (check with the wardens), campers are not counted in the stocks. Remember to call the wardens to book your meal if you wish to take advantage of the comfort of this service.
