Beautiful hike that will require you to take the time to walk forest paths and coastal path, to not miss anything of these 2 majestic capes Lardier & Taillat, treasures of beauty and wonderful landscapes.
Follow the yellow signs. From Gigaro beach, at the entrance to Domaine du Cap Lardier, follow the signs for “Cap Lardier” along the Sentier du Littoral. Once at Cap Lardier, continue along the path to reach Plage de la Briande and the Cap Taillat isthmus. Continue along the Sentier du Littoral. At the elongated building (la Douane), follow the track on the left up to the asphalt road.
At this point, take the Route Forestière de la Tourraque Ouest (white and red barrier). At cistern no. RTE04, turn left to cistern CVR02 (do not go right) to return to the Route Forestière des Brouis. At this point, turn left to the next crossroads, then right and immediately left (leave the umbrella pines behind). Follow the signs for “plage de Gigaro” to return to the starting point.
Cap Lardier is the first of three capes on the Saint-Tropez peninsula. Classified in 1930, it boasts 6 km of coastline protected from real estate development. Pedestrian paths wind through its Mediterranean pine forest, with its 3 characteristic pines.
Set off on an adventure among the fabulous posidonia meadows, enjoy the beauty of the “anemone garden”, and marvel at the mystery of the wreck of the Cimentier! Access is from the Cap Lardier coastal path (20 min. walk).
Heaven on Earth… is accessible via the coastal path, a 45-minute walk from Gigaro. You will need to bring a hat, your picnic and some water.
Cap Lardier is the first of the three capes on the Saint-Tropez peninsula, the green lung of La Croix Valmer. Listed under the 1930 Law, it has the longest protected coastline (6km) of the 3 capes.
From beach of Gigaro, at the entrance of the Domaine du Cap Lardier, take the coastal footpath and follow “Cap Lardier”. Once at the Cap Lardier, follow the path all the way to Plage de Briande. Once on the beach, follow the yellow markings on your left, follow the path along the fence, stay on the trail in the undergrowth. At the intersection, cross the trail while following the yellow markings, walk alongside the farming plot. At the far end of this path, take the path running along the fence. At the intersection, take the path climbing on your left (do not turn right), keep walking until the bend and turn right to take the path running down through the vegetation all the way to a crossing facing the vineyards and 2 wooden steps. Follow the markings and turn right. At the next intersection, turn left and follow the markings indicating "Plage de Gigaro", follow the trail straight ahead of you. At the green front gate, follow the markings on your right and take the trail running through the undergrowth to head back towards the inland track “Route Forestière de Gigaro”. Turn right and follow the route and indications “Plage de Gigaro” to head back at the departure point
Cap Taillat: the natural jewel of the Saint-Tropez peninsula. Sandwiched between Cap Lardier and Cap Camarat, it differs from the other two by its sandy isthmus. It offers breathtaking views of the other two capes and the Hyères islands.
