A refreshing walk starting from Lac de Montriond, for young and old alike, to discover the listed site of the Cascade d'Ardent.
The pretty path alternates between clearings and woodland, passing through the charming hamlet of Les Albertans and its traditional old chalets. Admire the cliffs on your right, where several old galleries remain from which slate was extracted until the 1950s.
From 15/04 to 31/10 daily.
Accessible outside the snow season and subject to weather conditions. Check with the Tourist Office beforehand for current access conditions. Recommended season: spring - summer - autumn.

- Choose your route according to your physical condition and the weather conditions.
- Follow the instructions for signposting.
- Take sufficient food and water with you. Mountain sports require a lot of energy.
1/ Start from the car park at the end of the lake. At the car park, on the edge of the forest, the signpost shows you the way to the Ardent waterfall ‘through the forest’ ("par la forêt").
2/ About 30 metres further on, at the sign for ‘Les Echertons’, turn left. Keep going as far as Les Albertans!
3/ Here you are at Les Albertans. With its beautiful traditional chalets, this little hamlet is well worth a visit! We recommend you take a short stroll here before taking the path back towards the Ardent waterfall.
4/ The Ardent waterfall: enjoy the view of the waterfall from a wooden platform that juts out into the void, or admire it from the bridge just above.
5/ Return by the same route.
