Tour de la Chapelle Sainte Marthe
Description
This short walk on the village’s heights which is overlooked by the Sainte Marthe chapel is a good meeting point with the Monges massif. Marked by both its mountain and Provençal greenery, it offers beautiful views on the surrounding summits.
From the parking lot, cross the road and follow the signs for the GR 6. Passing near the Gîte des Monges, walk through the narrow streets until you reach the town hall. At the sign for “Place de la Fontaine,” head up the small road in front of you toward the chapel.
On the climb, quickly turn right onto the trail. Behind the chapel, continue along the trail.
Continue on the road toward “Tabaillon” on the GR and turn right onto the trail.
At the signpost, turn right onto the trail to return to Authon.

Parking lot at Authon village exit. (On the huge parking lot next to the Monges gite.)
Access
From the roundabout at the north of Sisteron, take the departmental road D 951 and the departmental road D 3 leading to Saint Geniez. Cross the village and go on the D 3 to reach Authon.
