Description

This short hike, which takes place mostly in the woods, is a pleasant way to spend a hot summer day. You’ll enjoy beautiful views as you follow a varied route through pastures, forests, marshy areas, and along the banks of a stream.


A few meters before the ONF gate, take the trail that crosses the Sasse.
Cross the pasture on the right for 200 meters.
Continue along the ridge trail until you reach the Chagne forest road.
At the intersection of the trail and the forest road, take the road to the right for 150 m, to the Chagne shelter.
Retrace your steps and continue along the forest road, following the yellow markings.
Descend the forest road to the ONF gate.
Go through the gate to return to the parking lot.

Access

From Sisteron, take the D951 toward La Motte-du-Caire. Pass through Clamensane and then Bayons.Continue on the D1 for 1 km past Bayons, then take the forest road on the right.Follow the forest road for 7 km, and park before the ONF gate.
