Village du Poët
Vue sur la Durance
Credit : CCSB

Description

This family-friendly walk takes you on a tour of the village of Le Poët, built on the banks of the Durance River, passing through woods and lavender fields. On the hill overlooking the agricultural plain, the village center clusters its old houses around the Church of Saint Pierre, restored in the early 19th century, featuring an 11th-century bell tower and a beautiful contemporary sundial on its façade. From the Tower of the Upper Town, you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view with an orientation table.

Follow Route D 722 toward the village of Le Poët, then turn right at the first intersection to reach the park.
Continue for about 400 meters, turn left, then take the small path that runs alongside the houses.
At the end of the path, near the fields, take the trail on the left.
When you reach the intersection, turn right, then right again at the next one.
After walking about 800 m, as you exit the woods, take the trail on the left at the crossroads toward Les Paillade and continue straight on it until you return to point 4.
From there, go straight ahead down the path toward Le Poët and continue on this road to the village center.
Once in the village, pass in front of the town hall and then next to the bakery. Turn left onto the street and head toward Chemin du Belvédère to reach the orientation table.
Once you exit the orientation tower, head downhill to return to the starting point.
