Built around 1258 by Carthusian monks, this charming mill has benefited for centuries from the waters of the Reyssouze, the river that flows through Bresse. Admire this wheat mill and its 4 levels, where millstones, cylinders, sack-lifts... are in operation.The former miller, owner and active member of the Amis des Moulins de l'Ain, will tell you all about the history of the Bresse region, at this site listed on the Route des Plus Beaux Moulins de France and registered with the Fondation du Patrimoine. Push open the door of Bruno's Mill and discover its history and mechanisms. A mill until 1789 for the monks, then for a century for the Counts de la Boulaye, it became a power plant for a time. Later, it once again became a flour mill, eventually specializing in animal feed. Today, it's open to you for a plunge into the past and traditions, where young and old are sure to marvel. Children can touch, test and put themselves in the shoes of a miller for the duration of a visit. For an unparalleled experience, you'll be able to watch a 1908 dynamo being used to generate 110 volts of electricity. 2 turbines are also dedicated to the production of clean, renewable energy (electricity). The Moulin de Cézille, also known as the "Moulin Gaud", recounts an important part of Bresse's history, through its machinery and a small museum created by a team of enthusiasts.The Moulin de Cézille, or Moulin Gaud, is powered by the Reyssouze, the emblematic river of the Bresse region, which once boasted 37 mills - one every two kilometers! Many of these mills have medieval origins, reflecting the region's extensive cereal-growing activities. Such is the case of the mill at Cézille. However, the oldest written record dates back to 1667. It is typical of Bresse mills, i.e. straddling the river. Owned by the Gaud family since 1880, it ceased operations in 1977 and was sold. Now restored by a team of enthusiastic volunteers, it has been converted into a small museum. The most impressive feature is the large paddle wheel, but you can also discover the horizontal sawmill, the flour mill, the power station, the 1931 Ruston & Hornsby engine (all still in operation), the miller's room and the exhibition room for paintings, photos, posters and ceramics.

Reverse flowering plant, the Crocus Sativus shows its stigmas in the fall. It takes 150 to 200 flowers to obtain 1 g of dry saffron. After drying, the stigmas lose 80% of their weight.
