A hike without difficulties to contemplate the lake of Arvouin, the mountains of Chablais and sumptuous landscapes on the summits of La Chapelle d'Abondance.
The lac and col d'Arvouin is a half-day hike that takes in a breathtaking landscape from the Sevan parking lot, just 300 meters below.
You'll first reach the glacial lake at the foot of the Linleu summit, in the heart of the Cornettes de Bise massif.
Near Lac d'Arvouin, the mountain pasture of the same name is home to herds of Abondance cows, which supply the milk for the local cheese.
You then reach the Col d'Arvouin or Col de Savalenaz, at 1856 m, which acts as the border between France and our Swiss neighbors.
From 01/06 to 15/10 daily.
Check with tourist offices in advance to find out the current access conditions.
Subject to favorable snow and weather conditions.
This route crosses the Cornettes de Bise nature reserve. To avoid disturbing wildlife and preserve its habitat, please respect the regulations in force:
Dogs are allowed and must be kept on a leash. It is forbidden to pick or gather plants, to dump waste of any kind or to use motorized vehicles. Bivouacs are permitted from 7pm to 9am.
To respect agricultural practices, natural areas and wildlife, please keep your dogs on a leash and pick up after them. Keep and sort your garbage, stay on the paths and close the fences.
The wetland bordering Lac d'Arvouin below the chalet is a sensitive and protected heritage area.
To avoid trampling and to preserve this rich and fragile ecosystem (protected flora and breeding ground for aquatic fauna), please do not walk around Lac d'Arvouin and stay on the main path leading up to the chalet.
Our mountain lakes are fragile environments, and our actions have an impact on these ecosystems, so please don't swim in them (dogs included).
When you swim, you leave behind sunscreen, bacteria and organic particles that disturb the ecological balance.
