If you're a history buff, you're in for a treat! This magnificent hiking trail overlooking the Creuse valley will take you to the Ganne tower, the only vestige of the fortifications of the castle built by Richard the Lionheart in the late 12th century.
Did you know? The commune of Saint-Rémy-sur-Creuse was in the hands of the English... The four-tower fortress served as protection against French incursions!
You can also discover the impressive troglodyte cliffs. These curious rock-cut dwellings bear witness to the passage of mankind since prehistoric times. Legend or true story, troglodytes are said to have been used to house lepers, or as a refuge for the inhabitants during the Wars of Religion.
