Description

This route is a round trip between the two churches of the Lamothe-Capdeville village. It connects the two hamlets of Ardus and Cos along ridge paths down to the valley.

THE TRAIL STEP BY STEP
Departure and parking: Cos church

1. Climb the Pech de Cos path. In the undergrowth and on the hillside. After 850m, cross the wood of Cos. At the road, turn left and descend for 500m.
2. Turn to the right by the small non-passable path, then descend straight down the slope. Continue the descent through fields, on the Chemin de la Vieille Côte. It continues along Chemin de la Tapissié.
3. Turn right to go up the Côte de Mirabel for 50m. At the next intersection, turn left through a hairpin bend.
4. After 400m, follow the path that goes up, the coast of Vialette. Turn left into Chemin de Sémenol. The arrival of the walk is at the church of Ardus. The return is by the same route

THE SIN OF COS
Pech is an Occitan word which would come from the Latin podium which means “height” or “hill”. It is very common in local toponymy.
