Discover this artificial lake, created in 1944. Since 1950, it has fed Lac de Vassivière via an underground aqueduct for hydroelectric generation. The lake has swallowed up the Lavaud-Gelade mill, which once featured on the Etat-Major map. The site is listed as a Natura 2000 zone and a natural zone of ecological, faunistic and floristic interest. The landscape is changing, with moorland gradually giving way to conifer plantations.
Start: Place de l'église, 23 km, 6h, yellow markers.
