It is possible to picnic in the middle of this verdant gem, along the shores of Peyre Lake. For their health and well-being, please do not feed the wild animals.
From the restaurant at the pass, follow the signs towards Peyre Lake. The trail starts out relatively flat, and then gets steeper until you reach a flat grassy area. Peyre Lake is not too far away. Extend the outing by hiking another 20 minutes (140m vertical gain) to Col de Balafrasse Pass. Hike back out the same way you came.
