What's the Pro's opinion?
" Starting from Cherbourg and the famous " Cité de la Mer ", this itinerary will take you, between moor and sea, to the Hague.
To begin our loop, a warm-up in the port city is de rigueur! We head for the Quincampoix valley, which includes a few steep passages to reach the town of Bricquebec. Its cycling club is home to many licensees and it will not be rare that you will find some
fellow travelers on these roads
A few kilometres after Bricquebec, direction due west with the wind as the first enemy. Before arriving on the coast, a break will be welcome for some at Les Pieux. Afterwards, there will be no time to stop because the difficulties will follow one after the other. And if the west wind or the rain gets in the way, the route will be even more difficult on the winding roads of The Hague.
If the thighs suffer, the eyes do not: charming little harbours, windswept lighthouses, panoramic views of the sea and the valleys, changing light, ...
Once you have passed through Gréville-Hague, the last 12 kilometres will be flatter and will allow you to reach the Cherbourg agglomeration quietly with a favourable prevailing wind. »
