Near the village of Champeaux, between Carolles and Saint-Jean-le-Thomas, the cliffs are high and prodigious. The most beautiful kilometer in France, according to General Eisenhower!
The Champeaux cliffs offer a remarkable panorama of the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel. The path over the promontory winds through wild, dense and varied vegetation. The path is lined with huts built by order of Vauban to enable customs officers to keep an eye on the coast. Today, they serve as observation points for birdwatchers.
