Nestled in an 18th century hôtel-Dieu, the Vire Normandie Museum has reopened its doors after 3 years of renovation. Explore the history of Vire Normandie and follow in the footsteps of the men and women who transformed the town and its Bocage! Come and discover the new scenography and the surprises of the tour: games, multimedia, models, animated films, olfactory device. Visit for all ages. From 5 April 2023, the museum will inaugurate its high season with a new temporary exhibition entitled La fabrique des parfums - Roger&Gallet, une marque iconique. In 1862, two people from Vienna joined forces to create the House of Roger&Gallet. Perfume is no longer just a means of fighting miasmas and bad smells, it is also a matter of hygiene, a social marker and well-being. Art and industry, health and beauty, nature and chemistry, perfume is at the crossroads of many fields. The exhibition offers a history of perfume through the evolution of a famous French perfume brand and an unforgettable olfactory experience! Exhibition until 5 November 2023.

Built according to Eiffel's plans, the bridge that crosses the river formerly provided a rail link between Vire and Caen. Only the metal bridge deck was destroyed and the pillars are still in place today. A new suspended bridge is used as a platform for bungee jumping and a giant zip-line. A third activity now enhances our "sensational" offer: the Swing, a pendular jump.

Activities for all, in an exceptional setting For over 35 years, Skypark Normandie by AJ Hackett has been offering sensational experiences in the heart of the Souleuvre valley, in a protected natural site unique in Normandy. There's an activity to suit everyone: the Skybridge and its glass balcony suspended above the void, the giant zip line, the giant swing, the bungee jump and the pendular jump, a fluid and accessible aerial experience, to be enjoyed alone or with friends. The site is fully equipped for a full day's outing, whether you've come for the adrenalin, the discovery or just to enjoy the ride: picnic tables, snack bar/bar, relaxation area, children's play area, hiking trails and viewpoints over the valley. A viaduct steeped in history The Souleuvre viaduct was built between 1887 and 1889, according to plans attributed to Gustave Eiffel, to enable the Caen-Vire railway line to cross the valley. Disused after the Second World War, it was given a new lease of life in the late 1980s. In 1988, AJ Hackett discovered the site, whose configuration reminded him of the Kawarau River in New Zealand. The first bungee jumps took place in November 1990, making the Souleuvre viaduct the very first permanent bungee jumping site in France, and an emblematic venue for thrill sports.

A track sled to enjoy alone or by two, whatever the season, a landscaped garden with bare-footed path, a 9-zipline forest trail, two high acrobatic trails, totally secured with nets, including one trail for families (age 3 up). Varied catering solutions including country fare in a new, heated building, an ice-cream/pancake/waffle stand and a small tourist train, free play area and, of course, bungee jumping, giant swing and zipline to ensure you enjoy a great show… so many good reasons to come to the Souleuvre viaduct with the whole family, for a fun-filled day.

In the heart of the Normandy Bocage, take an hour-long barefoot stroll through a landscaped garden featuring 6,000 plants, 50 different materials, 700 metres of pathway, three water crossings, including one on a suspended footbridge, and another on an arched bridge overlooking a koî carp pond, scenery from all over Normandy, at the foot of the Souleuvre Viaduct. Your feet will rediscover textures along the way. Children and their parents can enjoy a lovely walk that awakens all the senses. Among the flowers, plants and ponds, you'll discover a miniature Mont Saint Michel, as well as the Porte Horloge in Vire and an apple press. A garden inspired by nature, with lots of grasses, some over 2.00 m tall, and some rare species of plants and trees, such as a handkerchief tree, A Normandy theme, with decorations from the region, copper, pottery, granite, an apple press, and miniature reproductions of local monuments: a clock door from Vire and Mont Saint Michel set in a pool of water, and a second pool with different kinds of water lilies .... and a sensory trail of 50 different materials.
