Description

This 18km off-road trail between the Saint-Emilion vineyards and the Dordogne offers some lovely views. It follows a 1 km stretch of grass track, which requires a mountain bike or all-terrain vehicle.

From the Jardin de la Lamproie in Lavagnac, take the road to Ste-Terre and follow the river.

At the entrance to Ste-Terre, turn right towards the village. Drive past St-Alexis church and turn slightly right into Rue du Parlement.

After the hamlet, leave the shore by taking the road on your left.

At the crossroads, turn left.

At the stop sign, take care when crossing and continue straight ahead.

At the crossroads, take the small road on the left.

At the stop sign, continue straight ahead or turn right to see Ch. Gerbaud.

At the next junction, turn left.

Cross the tree-lined driveway and continue along the small tarmac road.

A la fourche après le Ch. Sicard, prenez à gauche et longez le terrain de tennis.

A la Poste de Vignonet, tournez à gauche au stop ou prenez à droite pour voir le Ch. Quercy.

Au carrefour de la grande route, continuez en face direction Branne.

Prenez à gauche après le grand bâtiment de brique. Longez la Dordogne vers la gauche et traversez le port de Vignonet.

Au stop, continuez tout droit.

Au panneau “Stop à 50 m”, continuez tout droit pour longer la rivière à droite.

Au panneau “circulation interdite”, continuez sur le chemin enherbé pendant 1 km.

Rejoignez la route bitumée au niveau des premières habitations et du point de vue sur la Dordogne et le port de Cabara.

It is also home to a 19th-century neo-Gothic church with a porch belfry.

Le jardin de la lamproie

The Jardin de la Lamproie is a park designed around the themes of the river Dordogne and the mysterious lamprey. A curved path, surrounded by wetland vegetation, symbolises the river. All along the way, explanatory panels will help you appreciate this varied vegetation. Inside the Garden is the exhibition room, where live lampreys in an aquarium await your visit. There is also a shop selling regional products.
