Hiking : Col de Véry

Hiking : Col de Véry

Description

A sporty hike for confirmed walkers, between forests and alpine pastures with views over the Mont-Blanc and the Beaufortain. Keep your eyes peeled; you may catch a glimpse of marmots near Butte! Abundant flora and sale of cheese in the high pasture farms.

Setting out from Leutaz, head in the direction of the Véry Pass, and take the path on the left just before the bridge, in the direction of Pré Rosset: steep passage through the forest. When you arrive at the Chambrettes (chalet), leave the path, that goes off to the right, and cross the glade by taking the path that climbs uphill. You will pass “Sur les Près” and walk in front of the “Pré Rosset” restaurant.

Continue on the path to the “Croix de Pierre” Refuge and to the Véry Pass.

To come down, continue by passing the Basse-Combe Pass, Butte, Chevan, the Alpage des Têtes (auberge farm). Return to the Leutaz car park.
