[Stroll] The Two Ovens

Let yourself be tempted by the discovery of the solar oven and the lime kiln of Sorède during this short hike.


From the Tourist Office – Hiking Center, head to the Church and the center of the village.
Facing the church gate, take the dead-end street in front of the gate, then the trail in the forest, limited on the left by a stream. Going up on the right is the Moulin de la Pave, and a few meters higher is the Font dels Ocells (Birds Fountain). The trail follows a partially buried pipeline. At the junction, turn right. Small water reservoir here.
Here, a basin, trail junction, and informative signs. Take the direction "Cabanes de Mataporcs" and follow the track to the left. At the mas on the right (Mas Bordes), continue on the track, staying to the left. A little further on, a yellow point on the left indicates the Fontaine Malzach below.
Go up on the track to the right.
At the intersection, turn left.
Continue straight on the track to Sorède, do not go up towards the Cabanes de Mataporcs.
Arriving in Sorède, cross in front of the retirement home to take the path in front (health trail) that goes up to the solar oven. Descend on the road by the trail. A few meters away are the mas del Ca and the Valley of the Turtles.
Head back towards the retirement home.
Follow the small paved road that starts on the left just after the establishment. A lime kiln is located below, feel free to linger and read the explanatory panels. Continue to arrive in the Laroque des Albères area, Chemin de la Forge.
At the end of this road, go up to the left, chemin de la montagne (paved road).
Here, a dirt track. On the left is a ruined mas. Continue straight then take the direction of Mas Bordes.
Take the same route as on the way to return to the Tourist Office in Laroque.
