[Walk] In the Steps of Aristide

Discover the life of the sculptor through 15 information panels while strolling through the alleys of old Banyuls.

Start at the Office de Tourisme (Tourist Office). From there, walk past the town hall and Place Paul Reig, then continue along the beach and café terraces toward Port-Vendres. At the end of the beach, stay left and follow the Avenue de la République, which leads you to Place Bassères. The circuit begins on your right, where you'll ascend the Rue Aristide Maillol (stairs). Each information panel along the route directs you to the next step of the journey.Follow the signs until you return to Place Bassères for the tour's end. Along the way, make sure to admire the various sculptures by Aristide Maillol displayed throughout Banyuls. For a more in-depth experience, consider visiting the museum dedicated to Maillol, located 5 km from the town center at his former farmhouse​.
