From EuroVelo 8 to Mas del Ca

This route allows you to discover the heart of the village of Sorède, the Mas del Ca, La Vallée des Tortues or the Four Solaire from the Eurovélo 8 cycle path.


Leave Eurovélo 8 from the crossroads at the entrance to Sorède, heading towards the Village.
At the roundabout take the second exit towards the village center.
At the next roundabout take the second exit towards Laroque-des-Albères. Go along the town hall of Sorède for a hundred meters above sea level. This portion of the road is one-way but in a shared traffic space. Enjoy the panoramic view of the Albères massif in front of you.
Arriving at the square a few meters after the Church, turn left at the restaurant "Ma Maison" and take the road which goes up in a straight line.
At the next crossroads keep right and pass the Hotel St-Jacques on your left. Continue on this path which will allow you to reach the heights of the village. Continue on rue du Moulin Cassanyes for about 800m.
Just before the roundabout, take the cycle path on your left to the retirement home "Les Valbères". You will be from this point on a differentiated lane from automobile traffic for your safety. A brand new track to take you to the entrance of Mas del Ca. From there, you can reach the Turtle Valley animal park, learn how the Solar Oven works, or simply enjoy the view overlooking the plain of Roussillon.
For the return take the avenue de la Vallée Heureuse to the crossroads of the road to Laroque. Cross straight on and at the next crossroads turn right on Rue du Canigou until the next crossroads.
At the stop sign, turn left into rue de la Gabarre and exit the village. After a few hundred meters the road winds between the vines. Be careful, you will find the Eurovélo 8 cycle path on your right about 500m after the last house.
Leave from the cycle path in the direction of Argelès-sur-Mer to complete this loop.
