This varied trail is easily accessible dotted with natural curiosities. It enters a preserved forest. It then leads to the Turet belvedere for a spectacular panorama of Gex, the Lake Geneva plain, Mont Blanc and the surrounding ridges.
From the Col de la Faucille, this family hike offers a rejuvenating immersion in the heart of nature. Biodiversity is remarkable. After a gentle, gradual ascent, the Turet belvedere reveals an exceptional panorama of Gex, the Lake Geneva plain and the majestic Mont-Blanc on a clear day. The return journey takes the same route. In winter and spring, this area is subject to special restrictions essential for the preservation of vulnerable species (limited access between December and June, see regulations). Dogs are strictly forbidden all year round, even on a lead.
The route takes in the heart of the Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park, and part of the Haute Chaîne du Jura National Nature Reserve: a protected, unspoilt area to be explored with respect.

▶ This route crosses the Haute Chaîne du Jura National Nature Reserve. Please respect its regulations.
Among the rules to observe:
Dogs are strictly forbidden, even on a lead.
Plant picking and mineral collecting are also prohibited.
The trail crosses a Quiet Zone, which is closed from 15 December to 30 June.
Tolerance is granted for use of the trail as far as Le Turet, provided that you stay strictly on the marked path. It is forbidden to leave the path.
▶ Before setting off:
Find out about the general and local weather forecast, making sure there is no precipitation
Find out about the approach walk, the height of the route, the journey time, possible retreats (IGN map, GPS, topo-guide, etc...)
Assess the possible risks by asking mountain professionals, refuges, gîtes
Inform someone close to you about your objective and contact them again if there are any changes: departure and return times, number of participants with the telephone number of each, vehicle(s), parking
Avoid setting off alone, use equipment that is suitable for the activity, adjusted and in good condition, headlamp, complete first-aid kit, survival blanket, etc.
In the event of a problem, call 112 (European emergency number).
From December 15 to June 30, the Quiet Zone is closed, but you can still use the marked path. You must stay on the path.
(1) Start from the Route de la Greffière, which links the RN5 to the center of the La Faucille resort. Rejoin the RN5, cross it carefully, then continue in the direction of Gex.
(2) The path starts on the left, just opposite the Hôtel La Couronne. It begins a gradual climb before becoming gentle hills. You then enter the Turet forest, where the path winds peacefully through the trees. Along the way, you pass spectacular geological formations that bear witness to the massif's turbulent past. The path then joins the route forestière de la Vieille Maison. Follow this track to the right to reach the Chalet forestier du Turet.
(3) The trail resumes just after the chalet, on the right of the road. A slight climb leads to another crossing of the forest track, before entering a pretty, shady combe. Here, at an intersection, you can choose between the Mauvais Pas path, which leads down to Gex, or the Turet path.
(4) Keep to the right, towards Le Turet. The path enters a pretty area of undergrowth lined with low stone walls. As you leave the forest, a small ridge comes into view: walk past the small stone cross that stands on it then begin the descent.
(5) The view soon opens up giving way to an imposing 180° panorama. A well-placed bench invites you to take a contemplative break: your gaze takes in the crests of the Jura, the plain below and on a clear day the peaks of the Alps in the distance.
The return journey is a leisurely one along the same path.
No. Dogs strictly forbidden in the Haute Chaîne du Jura National Nature Reserve
