ITINERARY: Canalisation des Orangers, Ilet des lataniers, Bas des rampes, Grand Place les Hauts (night), Ilet à Bourse, Ilet à Malheur, Aurère, Deux Bras.
Day 1: ENTERING THE CIRQUE
Depart from the village of Sans-Souci (Hauts de Saint-Paul) situated at 414 m altitude, after a 45 minute climb, it links to the Sentier de la Canalisation des Orangers. After 4 hours walking, the first part of the hike, which hasn't had any steep slopes up to the Captage des Orangers, can be broken with some bathing. After your refreshing break, descend to the Ilet des Lataniers and it will be time for a picnic. During the afternoon, the second part of the hike is busier, with a steep descent (45 minutes) into the Rivière des Galets at the place known as Bas des Rampes (330 m) and a steep climb of about 2 hours 30 to the Ilet de Grand Place les Hauts (840 m).
Dinner and a night in the mountain gîte awaits.
Day 2: LEAVING THE CIRQUE
Depart from the Grand Place les Hauts, make visits to the successive Ilets: "à Bourse", "à Malheur", "d'Aurère", in accordance with the ascents and descents of the tours of the islets by the postman. After around 4 hours walking you will reach the Ilet d'Aurère in time for a picnic. In the afternoon there is a long descent (2 hours 30) on the path called Bord Bazard, 910 m altitude to the place known as Deux Bras (253 m).
To go back to the Rivière des Galets you could go by 4X4!
