A short 2-day escapade among forest trails, alpine meadows, scree slopes and lake, leading to the Lac des Chambres at the foot of Pointe Rousse. This alpine lake, fed by a glacier, offers a timeless moment in an exceptional setting.
The magnificent Lac des Chambres hike will take you to one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Haute-Savoie.
Although the climb requires some physical effort, the reward at the summit is well worth the commitment. On the way up to this alpine lake of glacial origin, you'll have to negotiate footbridges and forests, as well as Alpine paths.
Along the way, you'll also pass close to the Jean-Bernard chasm, a popular spot for speleologists. From the Folly mountain hut, contemplate the view over the Giffre valley, the Pointe du Tuet, the Oddaz mountain, the Pointe de la Golette and the Pointe Rousse.
At Lac des Chambres you can enjoy views of Pointe Rousse, Col des Chambres, Pointe de Bellegarde, Avoudrues and the Couarra rocks.
You'll come back down to finish the day with dinner and an overnight stay at the Folly refuge.
From 31/05 to 30/09 daily.
Subject to favorable snow and weather conditions.
