Description

A short hike to the Bombardellaz refuge, passing by one of the rare lakes of the Aravis chain. The combes of Pacally and Tardevant, the typical geology of the site, the lake nestled in its case, give the site a wild atmosphere.

Departing from l'Arpettaz, just a stone's throw from Lac des Confins, this 2-day escapade takes you up one of the prettiest combes in the Aravis range.

All along the way, you'll be able to take in numerous views of the surrounding peaks. On this side of the Aravis range, you'll have an ideal vantage point from which to observe the Mont Lachat du Grand Bornand, with the Massif du Bargy and the Pic de Jallouvre in the background.

On the way up to Lac de Tardevant, you'll pass through a variety of landscapes, including alpine pastures, forests, rocky outcrops and grassy valleys.

At the end of this challenging ascent, the lake reveals itself, nestled beneath the cliffs of the Rochers de Salla. Observe the beautiful cliffs on either side, with their superimposed strata, vertical folds, plunges and faults.

As you start your descent, you'll stop for dinner and overnight at the Refuge de la Bombardellaz, with its lovely view over the Vallée du Bouchet.

The next day, you'll make your way back down to Les Confins.
