Magnificent hike to a characteristic La Clusaz summit: La Porte des Aravis. Climb up to this easily recognizable pass between two cliffs to enjoy one of the finest panoramas in Haute-Savoie.
On this challenging itinerary, you'll cross one of the many combe des Aravis: La Creuse.
Surrounded by the cliffs of Aiguille Verte and Parossaz, the climb is quite physical. Between the many cairns that line the route, take advantage of your breaks to contemplate the view of the relief facing the slope you're climbing.
At the end of a final scree slope, you'll reach the day's objective: the Porte des Aravis. Here, you can experience the thrill of following the ridge line of the Aravis Range while admiring this unique panorama.
This geological curiosity is the subject of a legend associated with Gargantua, a character from the novel of the same name written by Rabelais. During his crossing of the Alps, the giant is said to have stumbled and kicked the mountain, detaching a "piece" of the Aravis. This huge boulder was then catapulted into the Beaufortain massif, where the famous Pierra Menta now stands.
From 01/06 to 30/09.
Subject to favorable snow and weather conditions.
