Tips

The La Plagne Vallée tourist office has a few suggestions of ideas for routes of varying difficulty with overnight stays in a refuge. You take these routes under your own responsibility. Don't hesitate to ask for a guide to ensure you are guided in complete safety.

At the end of your day, enjoy a comforting halt at Coire refuge. Possibility of climbing up to the Croix du Berger from the Cormet d'Arêches, with a breathtaking view of Laval valley, the Lac St Guérin and the surrounding mountain peaks!

Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

DAY 1:
Take the road to Granier and Plan Pichu and go up to the refuge car park.
0/ Set off from La Coire refuge.
1/ Head towards Cormet d'Arêches.
2/ Continue on the forest road and follow the Lac des Fées taking the path down to the left. Take a short break at the pretty Lac des Fées.
3/ Then continue on to Econdu refuge where you will spend your first night.

DAY 2:
4/ The next day, take the mountain road behind the refuge, which ends after several bends. Keep going and climb towards the Col de Charvetant.
5/ When you get to the ridge, turn left to reach the Crêt du Bœuf. Enjoy the magnificent panorama 2384m above sea level.
6/ Go back down to Cormet d'Arêches following the ridge and then LE Dard stream.
7/ Return to La Coire refuge
