Walking itinerary : Semy le Bouaz loop

Hiking route Semy le Bouaz - Vacheresse
Hiking route Semy le Bouaz - Vacheresse
The mountain pastures of Semy - Vacheresse
Walking itinerary : Semy le Bouaz loop_Vacheresse

Description

Hike through the foothills of the Cornettes de Bise, on the heights of Vacheresse. Discover the Fontaine lake and the surrounding marshes, as well as the superb view of Lake Geneva from the Sémy mountain pasture.

Starting from the Lac de Fontaine, the route takes you along a mountain pasture path to the place called Sémy.

Take the time to walk around this beautiful mountain lake, nestled under the Mont de Chillon. This natural setting is home to several aquatic species, including the fario trout, the rainbow trout and the minnow, making this area a popular spot for many fishing enthusiasts.

The route continues along a ridge path to the Sémy mountain chalet. Here, the view of Lake Geneva is unique. Overlooking the Vallon de Bise, various panoramas of the cliffs of Mont Chauffé, the Cornettes de Bise, the mountain pastures of Ubine and the Mont de Grange await you.

Once back down to the Quatres Chemins crossroads, the return journey follows the Eau Noire stream. This watercourse forms the wetland of the Léchère marshes, next to the Fontaine lake, your starting point.
