Le col de Voza - Bellevue

A ride on the Mont-Blanc Tramway is a pretext for adventure... Discover a variety of alpines landscapes along the journey and some of the most views from the top. More than a simple excursion, a true discovery !In winter, it takes pedestrians and skiers to the Plateau de Bellevue (1800 m) and the ski area of Les Houches for the pleasure of a most picturesque walk and the grandeur of an exceptional panorama. In summer, it takes you as far as the Nid d'Aigle. Please note: following renovation work this summer (2025), the train will only run up to Mont Lachat. Take the cogwheel train for an effortless assault on the summits. Jeanne, Marie or Anne will take you to the gates of the high mountains, to the delight of your eyes... and your legs! Access to the Nid d'Aigle is reserved for mountaineers with a refuge reservation. Trains specially dedicated to mountaineers planning to climb Mont Blanc via the normal Goûter route will be offered at the following times: 7am, 12pm and last train from Le Fayet - Descent at 8.10am 1.10pm and last train back minus 10 minutes.

During a hikearound Col de Voza, take a few minutes to discover the fascinating history of the mountain huts on the royal route to Mont Blanc and immerse yourself in the beginnings of mountaineering.From the end of the 18th century, scientists, including the young Genevan scientist Horace Bénédict de Saussure, attempted to climb the summit of Mont Blanc. Initially unsuccessful, these early mountaineers were forced to set up the first high-altitude bivouacs. With the first ascents came the first shelters, hostels and refuges along the route of the Royal Route, opened in August 1855 by the British climbers Hudson, Kennedy and Smythe without guides via the north-west ridge. On 18 July 1861, it was the turn of Tuckett and L. Stephen, with Swiss guides, to complete the entire route from Saint-Gervais via the Aiguille du Goûter, the Dôme du Goûter and the Bosses ridge. From 1859 to the present day, the succession of facilities on the ascent route from Saint-Gervais via the Aiguille du Goûter has made it the normal route of Mont-Blanc.
