The Chevran educational trail

The walks starts from La Frasse. Head up the path and follow the signs to the left. Handholds in certain places, without difficulty. Information boards and signs about fauna, flora, geology… Old farms, bread oven and cross on the return path.

The circuit "Sentier pédagogique du Chevran" has been signposted by the Arâches council,the 'ONF (National Forest Office) and the "Lycée Professionnel" from Cluses. Information on fauna, flora, settlement, geology all along the circuit. From the Tourist Office, follow the marks Araches, then take the road towards (D6) La Frasse. Cross la Frasse and at 600m at the mark "Ballancy" on the left side of the road, park the car at la Croix Verte car park.
A family walk with children (from 6 yrs old), do not hike in case of misty conditions.
The Chevran mountain is located between 3 different communes : Cluses, St Sigismond and Arâches-La Frasse. You will find different notice boards throughout the walk. A specific theme is developed at each notice board. You just have to follow the red arrows. Sometimes you will have a rope to help you but there is no difficulty. Beautiful point of view. Benches.
Variation: Be careful. After the point# 13, a way which goes on the left “Rappel trop” take child’s hand.
At the point# 16, view on the villages of Nancy and Romme/cluses and the Arve Valley (river which starts in Chamonix and finishes in the Rhône after 107km). Follow the way and you will go down in a glade.
Variation: A path goes on the left towards “Pointe de Chevran” 1222m (15mn). Come back on the same way to continue and finish the tour.
