Randonnée - les sources du rey

Access: From Remiremont, take the Val-d'Ajol road and after 2 km, turn left towards Girmont-Val-d'Ajol. Parking: Park in the car park opposite the Chalot.

Distance: 13 km / Duration: 3 h 45 / Difference in height: 300 m / Signs: yellow disc.

1) Departure from the centre of the village of Girmont-Val-d'Ajol. Take the road to the Auberge St Vallier (sawmill). Go past the inn and the next house. Go down to the right on a dirt track towards the valley. Go towards the old farm of Haies Vallées.
2) A path near the farm goes into a small wood on the right and down the slope to reach a road. Descend to the next hamlet of Sauceley, which is on the left-hand side (sauceley: place covered with willows). Follow the path up on the left between the houses. It leads to the Heutotte (small hut) which it bypasses on the left.
3) Take a path to the right that goes into the forest and weaves its way through the peat bogs. Be sure to follow the signs and stay on course. The path roughly follows the contour line. It continues on a tarmac path. Go down 300m towards the hamlet of Haut du Repoix.
4) Follow the small road on the left and continue with a dirt track going up on the right behind the farm. Set course for the television relay station. Follow for a moment the road which offers a splendid view on Faymont and the Val-d'Ajol in a large arc.
5) Cross the hamlet of Rapaumont and arrive at the foot of the TV relay station. Continue on the dirt track and then on the tarmac and you will return along a large, almost straight forest track for 2 km.
6) A track on the left leads to the hamlet of Beuny. Leave the hamlet by the path rising to the right, crossing a small tarmac road.
7) You meet the signposted circuit n°20. Enter the small wood on the left and go down the road to the village.
