Le Vigan - St Bresson - St Laurent le Minier - Ganges - Cazilhac - Brissac - St André de Buèges - St Jean de Buèges - Pégairolles de Buèges - Arboras - St Maurice de Navacelles Navacelles - Blandas Montdardier - Le Vigan

An incursion into northern Hérault - the Buèges valley and its magnificent villages - with a return via the Cirque de Navacelles.

Take the D110 to St Bresson, then after crossing the Col des Aires descend to St Laurent le Minier and its waterfall - then head for Ganges on the D25 down the Vis valley - in Ganges stay on the right bank of the Hérault to head for Cazilhac and Brissac on the D4.
After Brissac, take the D108 into the Buèges valley, passing through some superb villages - St André de Buèges (on the D1), St Jean de Buèges and Pégayrolles de Buèges on the D122, which you follow to Arboras on a narrow road. The D9 takes you to the Col du Vent (703m) and the causse.
Before La Vacquerie-et-St-Martin-de-Castries, take the D130 towards St Maurice de Navacelles, which you will follow down to the bottom of the cirque and up the Gard side towards Blandas on the winding D713, before reaching Montdardier (on the D113).

You'll come back down to Le Vigan on a hairpin road (the D48S) via Avèze.
