Le Vigan - Col du Minier - Camprieu - Meyrueis Perjuret - Aigoual - Valleraugue - Le Vigan
This outing allows you to approach Mont Aigoual from the north and Lozère.
From Le Vigan, the climb over the Col du Minier (D48) is fairly long but gentle and regular (21 km at an average of 5%). Before the Espérou crossroads, you'll climb to the Col de Faubel (on the D986A), then leave Camprieu on your left to reach Lozère and Meyrueis (on the D986), a tourist village on the edge of the Jonte gorges.
From here, a 28km, 1225m+ climb to the summit of Mont Aigoual (1567m) awaits you, via the Col du Perjuret (on the D996 then the D18). From there, on a clear day, you can see ¼ of France, from the Alps to the Pyrenees, from the Mediterranean to the Massif Central.
Catering available.
Descend via L'Espérou and the winding roads leading to Valleraugue, Pont d'Hérault and Le Vigan. From L'Espérou, return via the Col du Minier.
