The Pic de l'Entécade rises to 2,266 metres and offers a 360° panorama of the highest peaks in the Pyrenees.
Although this peak is located in Spain, it is not far from the border ridge and can be reached from the Hospice de France.
Sporty families can hike here, as the easy trail presents no technical difficulties. The 800 metres of elevation gain are fairly gradual. However, good physical condition and proper equipment are still required.
1 - From the Hospice de France car park, take the path that passes in front of the Hospice de France inn, then at the fork, take the path on the left that climbs to the Fontaine Rouge (signposted).
6 - Return via the same route.
2 - The trail climbs steeply through the forest and then emerges into the open onto the Campsaure plateau, where it reaches a fork with a track.
3 - Take the Entecade trail (sign) and continue through the valley on beautiful green slopes to the Arro hut (1,940 metres).
4 - When you reach the pass, continue left along the ridge to reach the summit of Entecade (2,266m).
