Road closed from 30/11 to 15/04, trail inaccessible.
Starting from the Hospice de France, a hiker's paradise, you can reach the Cirque de la Glère by taking the Chemin de l'Impératrice.
The most experienced hikers can continue on to other ports and peaks (please note that a map is essential as there are no signposts).
Start opposite the inn, cross the Pont de Penjat bridge and turn right onto the path leading into the forest. The slight incline will take you to the Cirque de la Glère.
The passage is equipped with a handrail, and although it is not really dangerous, it may frighten some people. The cable is there to reassure them.

1 - The trail starts in front of the Hospice de France building (sign)
2 - Cross a stream and then, further up, cross a small bridge called the Pont du Penjat (1,439 m). A sign indicates that you should take the path on your right. You will quickly enter the beech forest.
3 - Further on, you will cross a passage equipped with a cable. Continue along the almost flat path. Two-thirds of the way along, you will cross the Baliran stream, which can be difficult to cross at the beginning of the season and is sometimes impassable.
4 - You will emerge from the forest (1,570 m) to admire the cirque and its waterfalls. Can you find the cabin?
5 - The return journey is via the same route.
