For your own safety, always take a bottle of water, a hat, warm clothing and footwear suitable for walking.
Depending on weather conditions, certain itineraries are not recommended in bad weather (fog) or are not practicable, or even forbidden, during the winter season.
Some sites are fragile, so stay on the marked trails. Avoid picking wild flowers and disturbing wildlife. Pick up your garbage.
Animals are not allowed on some routes.
Start: Follow the D99A (direction Services Routiers) to a fork in the road (signposted Espace des Plaines). Turn left at the crossroads and continue straight ahead until you reach the road.
1 - Cross the road to the hamlet of Les Nioux and, at the first houses, turn right twice, then uphill to a road. Turn left for 10m (route de Blot) and cross it.
2 - Climb the tarmac track opposite, then turn left at the crossroads. At the fork, keep right and continue to a small road. Ignore the impasse des Hortensias and reach a road.
3 - Cross the road and continue straight ahead. At the fork, go right down to the houses. Cross the hamlet (Les Girards). Follow the road to the first track on the left, in a bend at the bottom of the descent. Follow it to the houses (Fontaine d'lsserteaux AR 15mn) and turn right up to the main road.
4 - Cross the road, take the path opposite and go straight on to the second intersection. Turn left to reach the orientation table (view of the Sioule gorges, the Monts de la Madeleine and the Chaine des Puys).
5 - Continue on the track, go down and then turn left. Take the road (D2144) on the right towards Saint-Pardoux to get back to the start.
