Sur les pas de Simone de Beauvoir

From the reception area of the small station, the marked path through the Garenne du Puy Grolier leads to the old card factories. Once you have crossed the bridge over the Vézère, the scenery of greenery and water continues on the other bank. The tour continues along the rue de l'abreuvoir which climbs towards the old town. Then you cross the Vézère again by the Turgot Bridge to get back to the starting point. The route is punctuated by panels relating the life and work of Simone De Beauvoir, philosopher and writer (1908-1986), winner of the 1954 Goncourt Prize, who spent part of her childhood holidays close by.
