Description

Champagnac la Rivière invites you to discover its local heritage during a 1h30 walk. You will walk to the botanical path where you will notice two masonry water reservoirs, called ris by the Limousins, which were also used to wash clothes. You will walk along the greenway of the Hauts de Tardoire between Châlus and Oradour-sur-Vayres and you will admire the village of Champagnac, with its Romanesque church, from viewpoints along the route. You are close to the Richard the Lionheart Road and you will be in the Périgord-Limousin Regional Nature Park.

Voie Verte des Hauts de Tardoire

La Voie Verte est aménagée sur un tronçon de l’ancienne voie ferrée de la ligne de Saillat-sur-Vienne à Bussière-Galant, entre Châlus et Oradour sur Vayres, tronçon déclassé depuis le 10 avril 1961. La première partie de cette ancienne voie de chemin de fer est occupée par le vélorail de l’Espace Hermeline, situé entre Bussière-Galant et Châlus. La seconde partie de l’ancienne voie de chemin de fer, de Châlus à Oradour sur Vayres, constitue la Voie Verte des Hauts de Tardoire sur une longueur totale de 13 kilomètres.
