Guidebook with maps/step-by-step

0/ From the Laisonnay car park (Info Point open in summer), walk along the tarmac road for 300 m; after the bridge, turn left, then left again (sign).

1/ Take the path towards the Plaisance refuge; this one zigzags upwards, alongside the magnificent Py waterfall.
After 45 minutes, it crosses to the left by a small steep passage.

2/ It goes up the "Mollard" valley through the scree to join the torrent it runs alongside. A short steep passage then leads to the Plaisance valley; the slope becomes gentler.
We cross the torrent near a hunting hut "les caves" (alt. 2050 m).

3/ The path goes gently up the valley to the Plaisance refuge, made up of two chalets with pointed roofs, examples of typical Vanoise Park refuge architecture (alt. 2184 m).

4/ To go to the Col de Plan Séry: behind the refuge, the path crosses a footbridge over the Py stream, rises above a rocky bar (signposted entrance to the Park) and returns flat on the grassy slopes to reach the Plan Séry. This vast expanse of wet alpine meadows is the obligatory passage that allows you to reach the Col de Plan Séry (alt. 2609 m. The Col allows you to switch to the Peisey valley via the Entre-le-Lac hut, which is about an hour's walk away.

5/ Return: by the same itinerary or by continuing towards the Col du Palet and the La Glière refuge
